City, sweaty hands on the trophy!

You cannot go onto any Manchester City fan site without the final match of the season being talked about and quotes ranging from Churchill to Shakespeare being quoted. 'Once more into the breach dear friends' and 'We shall never surrender' are all good but for me the Eminem has the words that certainly express my feelings as we go into what is without potentially the greatest game in recent memory.
"His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready"

Well I am not going to be eating my Mom's spaghetti before the game, but you get the point. The tension is palatable and where ever you look colors have been firmly nailed to the masts. To stumble now for City would be a disappointment for sure but our trajectory will still be that of an onward and upward motion.

Things will not be easy for City though as several ex City members of staff return to the Etihad in a team fighting against relegation and the gloves will be off no matter what Mark Hughes has said in the media leading up to this. City have made the Etihad a fortress and  QPR have not traveled well, easy City win right?

It is important that the City fans play their part also, an early goal for United should not be met with nervousness in the stands. That will do nothing to help the players on the field, have faith in our ability and stay behind the Blues even if we go a goal behind. I have no doubt that we will win our first Premiership trophy, and our first league title for 44 years on Sunday. I also, though, have no doubt that we will not do it the easy way. It would be a party atmosphere if we went a few goals up early on, or if Sunderland did, but I do not think either will happen.

Also keep an eye on the Stoke game for help. If Stoke can score early on against Bolton that may just ease QPR's fears of relegation and they could relax allowing us to deploy our forward line and dictate the play. What we must not do as the Manager, players and fans is rush things. Rushing to make things happen will only cause mistakes and with no other games to go, that could prove to be devastating. We have waited 37 games, nine months and now, just one more 90 minute period.

All I have left to say to fans and players alike is this:
You'd better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you'd better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.
